Zen Ultimate is actively seeking one or more individuals interested in coaching for the 2017 season. Zen’s commitment to developing Toronto’s next elite mixed players will be complimented with dedicated coaching while competing in the Canadian Ultimate Series.

Expectations:

The Coach will be expected to work in conjunction with the team captains to run comprehensive practices aimed at skill development, game planning, fitness, tournament preparation, and tournament execution. It is preferred that the candidate have a strong background in mixed ultimate as well as an in-depth knowledge of the game. The Coach will be expected to attend one practice per week (Tuesdays), schedule and run two fitness session per month, and attend the following tournaments (reasonable accommodations can be made if the Coach cannot make one or more tournaments):

Tournaments:

  • Toronto Ultimate Festival (early May)
  • May Day – Waterloo (Tentative) (May 27-28)
  • Summer Experience – Toronto (June 3-4)
  • Comedy of Errors – Montreal (July 1-2)
  • Regionals (early-mid July)
  • No Borders – Ottawa (July 22-23)
  • Canadian Ultimate Championships – Saskatoon(August 24-27)

 

The coach will also be expected to attend the selection process, running April 20th, 25th and 30th.

 

Compensation:

All expenses incurred while coaching will be paid in full by the team. An additional compensation can be discussed with the team following the completion of coaching selections.
