Electrifying End to the Circuit
One of two tournaments on March 16th, and one of the two final tournaments to round out the Ontario 4v4 Circuit.
This event featured five mixed teams and one women’s team that was determined to take the opportunity to make an impact, and that they did. 4 Ladies registered an all female identifying team and had a great showing, going 3-2 at this event to finish third in the tournament and first in spirit! They put up a fight with the second-place team, Funshow, but fell just short in a tight 14-13 game.
The first game of the day is never easy, especially when it’s against the top team at the tournament. Nevertheless, Funshow put up a good fight and came within two points of the tournament champions, which was the closest matchup Pitter Patties would see all day. Funshow went on to finish the day with a 3-2 record as well, with the other loss being a close 12-11 game against Fabulous Four.
After Pitter Patties had a close call with Funshow, they made sure to kick their game into overdrive and cruised through the rest of their games to a perfect 5-0 record. Each game was a decisive victory, with Pitter Patties winning by at least 5 points in each of the subsequent games.
Bamboozle and Shenanigans were two evenly matched teams, with a tight 15-14 game favouring Bamboozle. Unfortunately for them, Shenanigans would get the edge in the final tournament rankings thanks to their performance against other teams, including a big 17-12 win over Fabulous Four. Both teams fought hard throughout the tournament without sacrificing Spirit of the Game and tied for second in spirit.
Fabulous Four ended the tournament in fourth place (both in spirit and on the score sheet), which may not sound all that fabulous until you realize that the spirit scores at this tournament were quite high all around and that they beat the second-place team, Funshow. Fabulous Four put up quite the fight in that match and came out on top, showing us that every game can go either way.
Five of these teams were new to the Ontario 4v4 Circuit (note that Pitter Patties is Pass The Stache in the full circuit), and while they won’t be able to improve their rank this year, we’re excited to see them come back and compete next year!

FAQ
Think of your relative ranking to other teams like you would the over-under in betting on say, American football. If you are a very high ranked team, and you lose to a very low ranked team, that will likely greatly improve their overall ranking, and may lower yours. Overall, as more and more games are played across the Circuit, these predictions get more and more accurate – and failing to meet them will have less of an impact on a single match up versus the overall data in a season.
Even though your team didn’t play, other teams who you have a history with, may have played games more recently. As this is a relative index, if they did well, and you fared well against them, you may also rise. Similarly, if they went down, you may be dragged down with them. The only sure way to control your own destiny is to play and improve on your past results.
